"What makes good cheese, good cheese" Postcard
4” × 6” Postcard Print
This postcard features a photograph by Alum Abby Wessels! Abby, a 2025 Apprentice at Jasper Hill Farm in Greensboro, VT, writes:
“Studying Environmental and Food Studies at the University of Oregon, I often find myself at a standstill when it comes to exploring avenues for making change. It feels as if there is too much to do, with not enough time. At Jasper Hill I was part of a small system that empowers its community, uplifts its employees, and works to give back to the environment around it, rekindling my spirit and reminding me of the importance of making tangible change and celebrating the process of creating. I have been deeply impacted by the kindness, support, and knowledge I have gained from my apprenticeship. I conducted soil tests, milked cows, bottle-feed calves, made cheese at the creameries, affinaged at the cellars, and worked the farmers markets’. Through my experience of seeing how each stage impacts the next and the importance of holding your values at the core of what you do that I learned the most. Thank you ASLF and Jasper Hill for opening your arms and teaching- it was truly a privilege.”
