John Grund is an artist, gardener, and community organizer based in Brooklyn, NY. His practice explores relationships between technology and nature, living on a planet in decay, finding meaning in the everyday, and tensions between city and country. John tells stories and builds worlds in realms of fantasy, weaving alternate realities that offer a critical perspective on existing systems. He is interested in the wind, the forces of nature, and explorations of materiality and the earth. Through various expressions including comics, drawings, and ceramics, John seeks to imagine new worlds and focus the spirit to connect communities. His work acts as a funnel with two open ends, channeling and propelling the forces it encounters.
