This postcard is a photo of Alum Grace Wertanen’s quilt! Grace, a 2025 Apprentice at Urban Growers Collective in Chicago, IL, writes:
“At Urban Grower’s Collective, not only did furthering my understanding of urban agriculture mean getting my hands in the dirt, it also meant diving into the functions of community. I created this quilt in collaboration with UGC’s youth program to emphasize traditional printing methods using only the sun to capture plants. Each student harvested their plants of choosing, developed them with the sun, and contributed their prints to the making of this quilt.”
